The Last Print
This was the last print of my 2005 series. I am still trying to understand the momentum I built up last year. This series was like a big experiment that continually surprised me, and they all happened so easily… so naturally. But as I return to painting, I find myself lost, starting over again. The temptation is to imitate the look of the prints I like, but I know that is a trap. I need to get back to the essence of what drove that series, which was: a melding of unlikely ideas mashed together by my own improvisation with a new material. This is only possible if I give myself permission to make ugly experiments … I am trying to be more patient.

Sorry for the first one being removed. I had a typo attack me. Ok, back to what I was saying.
I think it’s pretty interesting that you decided on that print. It sure resembles a skull to me.
