Extreme Pixel Art
I just read about the pixel artist Jason Huang on David Pogue’s recent post. The scale of this picture really caught me by surprise. Click on the picture above to see the whole artwork. I guess that building large worlds like this is nothing new, but I enjoyed viewing it online because it’s universe can only be viewed one small portion at a time, which really complicates the “reading” of it. At first I was annoyed by this, but then I realized this is good because it enriches the process of “narrative construction. I’m pretty sure I would not like it as much if it were just one large poster printout.

I look forward to pulling this up on Monday at work on the 30 inch cinema display. Interesting scrolling about through the world in such a fragmented way.
