New Collage
untitled | screenprints, ink, gesso, paper on paper | 30″ x 22″
This was my resolution of the eight different “maybe” versions from the last post. In fact, I had almost given up after several days of experimentation … but last night I took a break and watched a tv show with a few glasses of wine … then right before I went to bed (in tired desperation) I made one last attempt - and everything I previously knew fell away, and something very simple fell into place. That is the best feeling in the world! And it has to happen over and over again.

Inhibition removal mixed with mild delusions of grandeur is extremely addictive. It is a state to remember because it is at the core of The Process. It is also essential to cherish the build-up however. One of my favorite bumper stickers reads:
Prepare to ad-lib!

Improvisation is definitely the highest order of operation — it’s just so tough to get there.
